Mercredi 3 d\u00e9cembre, 16h-18h (Wednesday the 3rd of December, 4-6 pm)"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Paysages technologiques<br \/>\n<em>Technological Landscapes<\/em><\/h2>\n<p>Les changements introduits par les usages des m\u00e9dias localis\u00e9s n\u2019influencent pas seulement les comportements individuels, mais changent en profondeur la perception, l\u2019usage et l\u2019am\u00e9nagement des territoires.<br \/>\nCet impact technologique n\u2019est pas une particularit\u00e9 des transformations actuellement \u00e0 l\u2019\u0153uvre, mais du train \u00e0 l\u2019avion, du t\u00e9l\u00e9phone aux r\u00e9seaux num\u00e9riques, toutes les technologies ont toujours eu une influence importante sur les territoires, produisant des contractions et des dislocations urbaines, des empilements, des n\u0153uds, des connections et des saturations.<br \/>\nCependant, avec l\u2019apparition des m\u00e9dias mobiles et portatifs qui permettent la g\u00e9olocalisation spatiale et parfois temporelle, les corps et les territoires s\u2019articulent diff\u00e9remment et acc\u00e8dent \u00e0 un degr\u00e9 d\u2019hybridation qui semble assez in\u00e9dit. Les objets ont d\u00e9sormais tendance \u00e0 glisser, voire \u00e0 s\u2019embo\u00eeter, dans les territoires. Les individus et les objets se connectent ainsi \u00e0 l\u2019espace urbain et au paysage. Capables d\u2019augmenter la r\u00e9alit\u00e9 et l\u2019espace en y additionnant des informations, mais parfois aussi de la diminuer en retirant des donn\u00e9es ou des pratiques importantes, ces technologies seront probablement \u00e0 l\u2019origine de mutations dont les effets sont aujourd\u2019hui juste \u00e0 leurs d\u00e9buts.<br \/>\n<em><br \/>\nThe transformations initiated by the application of localized media not only influence our individual behavior, but also the perception, the usage and the construction of territories.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>This technological impact is not particular to the transformations taking place at the moment. Every technology, from the train to the airplane, from the telephone to the digital network, has always had a major influence on the territories producing urban contractions and dislocations, accumulations, knots, connections and saturation points.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>With the development of mobile and portative media allowing spatial and sometimes temporal geo-localisation, bodies and territories however connect differently with each other. They seem to attain an unfamiliar degree of hybridization as the technologies increasingly integrate into the territories. The individual and the object are therefore linked to the urban space and to the landscape. These technologies are capable of increasing reality and space by introducing information, but they can also decrease these structures by withdrawing data and important applications. D\u00e9placements, fl\u00e2neries, d\u00e9rives dans l\u2019art de la fin du XXe si\u00e8cle<\/em> (Ed. du Regard).<\/p>\n<p>Thierry Davila, <em>\u00ab Bodies-cities \u00bb<\/em><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ffffff\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Esther Polak<\/strong>, n\u00e9e en 1962, a \u00e9tudi\u00e9 les arts graphiques et les nouveaux m\u00e9dias et s\u2019int\u00e9resse \u00e0 la fa\u00e7on dont la technologie influe sur la perception (visuel). Son projet <em>AmsterdamREALTIME<\/em> (2002) est une des premi\u00e8res explorations artistiques de la cartographie GPS en grande envergure. Le r\u00e9sultat de cette collaboration artistique entre Esther Polak, Jeroen Kee et la Waag Society (<a href=\"http:\/\/realtime.waag.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">http:\/\/realtime.waag.org<\/a>) est une cartographie alternative et hautement personnelle de la ville. En 2004\/2005, elle a d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 le <em>MILKproject<\/em> dans lequel elle suit un transport laitier europ\u00e9en allant du pis de la vache (lettonne) \u00e0 la bouche du consommateur (hollandais). Toutes les personnes faisant parties de la cha\u00eene portaient, pendant une journ\u00e9e, un dispositif GPS qui enregistrait leurs mouvements. <em>MILKproject<\/em> raconte l\u2019histoire personnelle de ces diff\u00e9rents Europ\u00e9ens, du fermier letton au marchand hollandais avec ses clients. Le projet, r\u00e9alis\u00e9 en collaboration avec Leva Auzina et Rixc, Riga center of new media (<a href=\"http:\/\/milkproject.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">http:\/\/milkproject.net<\/a>), a re\u00e7u un Nica d\u2019Or de l\u2019Ars Electronica en 2005. En ce moment, Esther Polak travaille sur le projet GPS <em>NomadicMILK<\/em> en Afrique de l\u2019Ouest. Pour ce projet, elle enregistrera et visualisera les traces de bergers nomades ainsi que de transporteurs laitiers habituels au Nigeria. <em>NomadicMILK<\/em> int\u00e9grera un outil de visualisation GPS r\u00e9cemment d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 : un petit robot qui dessine des lignes de sable repr\u00e9sentants les traces saisies directement sur le sol. Par ce moyen, les traces peuvent facilement \u00eatre montr\u00e9es aux participants nig\u00e9riens et discut\u00e9es avec eux tout du long du chemin (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.mobilisable.net\/2008\/www.nomadicmilk.net\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">www.nomadicmilk.net<\/a>). Ce potentiel du dessin de sable comme graffiti temporaire permettant la mise en \u00e9vidence et la discussion d\u2019informations dans l\u2019espace public est devenu le point principal des derniers travaux d\u2019Esther Polak. Ce processus a, en effet, \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 davantage dans le projet envisag\u00e9 <em>Spiral Sunrise.<\/em><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong>Entretien avec Andrea Urlberger in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ciren.org\/ciren\/laboratoires\/Paysage_Technologique\/art\/polak\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Paysages technologiques<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>Esther Polak<\/em><em> (1962) studied graphic art and mixed media and is interested in how technology determines (visual) perception. Her <\/em>AmsterdamREALTIME project<em> (2002) was one of the first large-scale art explorations in GPS (Global Positioning System) mapping. The project resulted in an alternative, highly personal map of the city. This was a joint project of artists Esther Polak, Jeroen Kee and the Waag Society (<a href=\"http:\/\/realtime.waag.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">http:\/\/realtime.waag.org<\/a>). In 2004-2005 she developed <\/em>MILKproject<em>. In this project a European dairy transportation was followed from the udder of the (Latvian) cow, to the mouth of the (Dutch) consumer. All people who played a role in this chain received, for a day, a GPS-device that registered their movements. <\/em>MILKproject<em> tells the personal life-stories of these very different Europeans, from the Latvian farmer to the Dutch open-air market salesman with his clients. The project was awarded with a Golden Nica at Ars Electronica in 2005 It was developed in collaboration with Leva Auzina and Rixc, Riga center of new media culture (<a href=\"http:\/\/milkproject.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">http:\/\/milkproject.net<\/a>).<\/em><br \/>\n<em>At this moment Polak works on a GPS-project: <\/em>NomadicMILK <em>in West Africa. For this project the tracks of both nomadic herdsman and regular dairy transports in Nigeria will be recorded and visualized. The project will make use of a newly developed GPS-visualization tool : a small robot will draw the tracks directly on the ground in lines of sand. This way the tracks can easily been shown to the Nigerian participants and discussed with them along the road (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.mobilisable.net\/2008\/www.nomadicmilk.net\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">www.nomadicmilk.net<\/a>). During this process, the potential of sand drawing as temporary graffiti to show and discuss data in public space has become an important focus point for the latest works of Esther Polak and was developed further in the proposed project <\/em>Spiral Sunrise<em>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Esther Polak<em>, \u00ab Use of GPS for rural landscape depiction \u00bb<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ffffff\">.<\/span><br \/>\nPascal Amphoux<\/strong> est architecte, g\u00e9ographe, professeur, architect, geographer, and professor, \u00e0 l\u2019Ecole nationale sup\u00e9rieure d\u2019architecture de Nantes. Il exerce une activit\u00e9 ind\u00e9pendante de praticien et de consultant sur de nombreux projets architecturaux, urbains et\/ou environnementaux, he works independently as a consultant in the field of architectural, urban and environmental projects (Bureau Contrepoint, Projets urbains, Lausanne). Il est chercheur, researcher, au Centre de Recherches sur l\u2019Espace Sonore et l\u2019Environnement Urbain (CRESSON, \u00c9cole d\u2019architecture de Grenoble, UMR CNRS), membre du conseil scientifique Europan Europe, expert aupr\u00e8s de diverses institutions suisses, fran\u00e7aises ou europ\u00e9ennes. Distinction : M\u00e9daille d\u2019argent de l\u2019Acad\u00e9mie d\u2019Architecture, Paris, 2006.
